    • Working with residents has taught me one thing: small support can create big change. Every interaction matters, and the lessons we learn can transform lives.

      Top 2 Takeaways:

      ·       Tailor Support & Celebrate Small Wins: Every resident is unique. Meeting them where they are and recognizing small achievements builds confidence and long-term success.

      ·       Build Trust: Genuine relationships and addressing obstacles like transportation or childcare make programming effective and meaningful.

      Other Lessons in Brief:

      ·       Collaboration with staff and community partners multiplies impact.

      ·       Practical guidance works better than theory alone.

      ·       Patience and persistence are key, change takes time.

We like to think, if we can do it, so can they. But if that were true, we’d all be Oprah, Bezos, or Buffett. Just as it would be nearly impossible for us to become Oprah, it can be just as hard for someone to land or keep a job.  Keep that in your heart before you judge, or please show us how easy it is to become Oprah.  lol

Take Action: Every conversation and every bit of support counts. Empower, one small step at a time.

      With gratitude,

      kam
